Meet the Tutor
Hello! I am Jillian Hansen.

In 2021, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Florida with my B.A. in French and applied linguistics. I have been studying the French language since 2011.
​
As an IB student in high school, I earned a 6 on my French exams in 2018. I also studied in Paris for six months during the Fall 2019 semester.
I know very well the necessary skills for success on exams, written assignments, and oral performances. I look forward to working with students!

My Specialties
I specialize in teaching basic to intermediate French to students with little to no experience. Most of my work has been with high school students in French 1 and French 2 courses.

Because of my collegiate background, I emphasize the importance of linguistics in foreign language learning. I teach with a pronounced focus on the principles of phonetics, phonology, morphology, and syntax. Having an understanding of even the simplest linguistic concepts helps in both retention and development of learning strategies in foreign language education.
